“Stephenson’s Tiger Rock of Ravyille and Winnsboro is the best. Each and every one of the instructors are truly the best from their hearts. Mr. Stephenson and Ms. Stephenson have not only instilled values in their instructors that you will not find anywhere else. They are kind, caring, and encouraging. There are so many more adjectives that I could use for this school and everyone that makes it run so smoothly, but it would take many pages. They teach and insist on respect from the heart! My daughter and grandson joined and about a month later I enrolled. Scared that I would be stared at and “in the way” because I’m not young anymore, but it has been the complete opposite! Being able to train with my daughter and grandson has been one of the best things I’ve ever done! We get to spend good quality time together working on something that can be used for the rest of our lives. Values that will make my family good citizens in the world!! You want to raise a good child that knows how to treat people in the world? Send them to Tiger Rock!
Sincerely,
Shannon Norwood”

“The program that the Stephenson’s run is amazing. We have seen awesome results in our children’s self confidence, in their focus and they have developed a strong drive to succeed both in the gym and in life. It’s very easy to see the dedication of every instructor there and how much they care about the children’s well being and their success in the program and in life. This program is built on love and dedication to Martial Arts and the children and it is very visible from the first time you walk through the door. I’m proud to have my children in their academy.

"OMG! GAME CHANGER for Remington Elizabeth!!! This has given her self-confidence to try new things and stand up for herself. Her maturity level is growing with a sense of pride and purpose! This was THE BEST decision I ever made for my child!
She is learning to handle all the things life can dish out with grace and thoughtfulness while increasing her ability to protect herself and others in an ever-changing world!
Worth EVERY penny! Don’t hesitate!!!

“About 5 years ago, I signed my son up with Tiger Rock to give him an outlet to release some of his energy. This is one of the best decisions that we have made. He has learned self-confidence and most of all self-discipline. He has also developed leadership skills. He became more focused and motivated to reach his goals. Most importantly, he learned to NEVER give up, when you have been defeated. The instructors encourage each and every kid to do their best. To sum it up… TIGER ROCK IS AWESOME and my Tiger Rock Kid enjoys every minute of it!!!

“We have been a part of Tiger Rock Family for 8 years. When we started I was looking for something for my boys to do because I was tired of the organized sports world and the drama it entailed. I wanted something to keep them active and allow them to make new friends. I really didn’t know how long we would take or even if the boys would like it long term. It quickly became a huge part of our lives and The Stephenson’s became more like a family rather than just coaches. Fast forward 8 years and we can’t imagine doing anything else for our extracurricular activity. All 4 of my kids are black belts. My oldest son just earned his 4th Degree and will be a certified instructor this year. My oldest is also a certified instructor and plans to maintain that and continue her training as possible as she goes to college. One of my other two kids is a junior instructor and my youngest is on track to also become an instructor. We love Stephenson’s Tiger Rock and all of the instructors. It’s not just about learning Taekwondo. It’s about learning life skills and how to be the best person you can be.

"Today’s world is crazy to say the least. Every day we wake up, it’s new rules, mandates, CDC guidelines, or something else we need learn to help adjust to the “new normal”. People who have worked outside of their homes are now working from home. Kids are being homeschooled, doing distant learning, or hybrid learning. There aren’t a lot of constants happening right now, but what has remained constant for Jax and I, is our Tiger Rock family. I say family because that is what they have truly become to us and even with all the trials that have been thrown at them thus far, they remain steadfast. They have met every challenge of teaching our kids during Covid with competence and grace. My son has slacked during our distant learning, but the Tiger Rock team has not. They found ways to implement Friday night game night with the kids to continue to garner relationship building while not actually being able to be together. Communication between my son and his instructors have remained continuous. Jaxson has found a common interest in music with Ms. Stephenson and he is always happy to text her a new song he’s adding to his playlist.

Tiger Rock for me is knowing that my son isn’t just learning martial arts. He isn’t just staying active or playing with friends. He is learning everyday practical lessons whether he realizes it or not. He has learned what being both lazy and working hard can earn you. He has learned that its ok to fail, but not quit, how to really see other people and how to be considerate of their feelings. Jaxson knows his Tiger Rock instructors are holding him to high standard and expect nothing less from him. He understands that everyone will have bad days, but now knows what it’s like to have a team of people to encourage and lift you up on those days. To me that is invaluable. He needs to know early in life that surrounding himself with good friends will take you far. Those are the lessons that I pray sticks with him. I want him to become a strong, confident martial artist, but more than that I want him to become an honest man with integrity and the grit to keep going when life gets hard. The TR instructors are committed to helping me help him become all those things and more. They teach all of the fundamentals and techniques of being a martial artist, but they also teach the importance of honor, courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, courage, and community. These attributes make a good martial artist but more than that, they make a good person. Eric and Evangeline lead by example and teach their other instructors and students to do the same. Whew, this review is much longer than anticipated but if you have managed to make it this far and are considering investing in Tiger Rock please know that these people with invest in your children. Your money will not be wasted! They will be getting an invaluable education from people who will truly love your child. The instructors are committed to investing in your children and they always go above and beyond for their students. I can’t sing their praises loud enough and highly recommend giving them a chance with your children.
